Point Codes: The Short Words That Draw an Entire Map
Type "EOP" into a data collector, and CADD software knows to draw a road edge. That's not magic, it's a coding system every crew learns by heart.
Every point a total station measures needs to mean something. A raw X, Y, Z coordinate tells you where something is, but not what it is. That's the job of a point code, a short identifier attached to every shot that tells the CADD software downstream exactly how to draw, label, and connect that point.
