Single-beam echo sounder (SBES) bathymetric surveys to measure water depth and map the bed profile of rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and coastal areas.
Underwater survey uses a Single Beam Echo Sounder (SBES), mounted on a survey boat with integrated DGPS positioning, to record water depth at every GPS position along a planned survey grid — building up an accurate bed profile of the river, lake, reservoir, or coastal area beneath the surface, invisible from above.
Trishunya uses this to estimate remaining storage capacity in dams and reservoirs as silt accumulates over time, to calculate dredging volumes for rivers and channels, to survey the bed profile at ports and jetties before construction, and for ongoing silt accumulation monitoring — all cases where knowing the underwater terrain is essential and can't be measured any other way.
